Stop Beating Yourself Up

Shame The Ultimate Boxer – Stop Beating Yourself Up!

The other day I was talking to a good friend who was struggling with an addiction. He was telling me about the negative impact it had on his relationship with his wife.

As we talked, I couldn’t help but notice how often he would say things like, “I suck,” “I’m so stupid”, and “I can’t do anything right”.  The shame my friend felt about struggling with the addiction and the struggles he was experiencing with his wife created a cycle of negative self-talk.

My friend wouldn’t stop beating himself up.

Unfortunately, most people have experienced this type of negative self-talk at one time or another.  Truly, we are our own worst critic.

My challenge to you is to really pay attention to what you are telling yourself. All too often when we are struggling with something (addiction, comparing ourselves to others, finding our way in life, relationship issues, etc…), we pull out the boxing gloves and jump in the ring.

The next time you start beating yourself up, remember, there are people that understand what you are going through. Take off your boxing gloves of Shame, reach out to those people and let them help you.

You are worth it! Stop beating yourself up.

We are here to help you find healing. 801.901.0279
